Abstract: Fig. S1. Bayesian phylogenetic trees of Penicillium section Aspergilloides based on individual BenA, CaM, and RPB2 gene regions. Isolates found in this study are shown in bold and within green boxes. Ex-type isolates are marked with ‘‘T’’. Only bootstrap (bs) values ≥ 90 % and posterior probabilities (pp) ≥ 0.90 are shown at branches (‘‘–’’ means no statistical support). The tree is rooted with P. digitatum CBS 112082 and P. expansum CBS 325.48. Fig. S2. Bayesian phylogenetic trees of Talaromyces section Purpurei based on individual ITS, BenA, CaM, and RPB2 gene regions. Isolates found in this study are shown in bold and within purple boxes. Ex-type isolates are marked with ‘‘T’’. Only bootstrap (bs) values ≥ 90 % and posterior probabilities (pp) ≥ 0.90 are shown at branches (‘‘–’’ means no statistical support). The tree is rooted with T. bacillisporus CBS 296.48 and T. subinflatus CBS 652.95. Fig. S3. Morphological characters of other root endophytic Penicillium and Talaromyces found in Cattleya in this study. A–F. Penicillium yuyongnianii COAD 3654. G–L. Talaromyces amestolkiae COAD 3657. M–S. Talaromyces atkinsoniae COAD 3658. A, G, M. Colonies from left to right, all obverse, CYA, YES, and MEA. B, H, N. Texture on CYA. C, I, O. Texture on MEA. D, E, J, K, P–R. Conidiophores. F, L, S. Conidia. Scale bars: D, E, J, P = 20 μm; F, K, L, Q, R, S = 10 μm.
