Cost comparison of the sentinel lymph node biopsy procedure in the modalities: general anesthesia with hospitalization x local anesthesia and intravenous sedation in a day hospital
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Background: Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) has undergone major changes in its indication and importance in recent years. Regardless of these scientific implications, since the early days of the technique's application, we have performed SLNB as a day hospital procedure with great patient satisfaction in over 1,000 cases. Patients usually undergo outpatient lymphoscintigraphy in the surgical day morning, are admitted fasting in the late morning, and undergo SLNB under local anesthesia + intravenous sedation.
