Abstract: Background: Cutaneous malignancies are common following long-term use of immunosuppressive drugs in organ transplant recipients (OTRs), in particular non-melanoma skin cancers. Evaluating the skin cancer risk, alongside education on skin self-examination and sun protection, are central components in the dermatological management of OTRs [1]. A skin cancer risk stratification program for follow-up of OTRs was implemented in 2010 at the Karolinska University Hospital (KUH), Stockholm, Sweden. The management consists of skin cancer screening, including a total body skin examination, and risk categorization (low-, intermediate-, or high-risk).
