Efficacy and safety of stereotactic radiotherapy in hepatic oligometastatic melanoma

Abstract: Background: Patients with melanoma liver metastases have a poorer prognosis. They benefit only to a limited extent from treatment, including immunotherapy. The hypothesised mechanism is systemic immune tolerance in preclinical models. Destruction of liver lesions could improve therapeutic response. We present a series of patients with focal treatment by stereotactic radiotherapy (SBRT) of hepatic lesions.
