Deescalation of immunotherapy in metastatic melanoma patients with scheduled drug holidays

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Background: The optimal duration of immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) in routine clinical practice remains undefined for patients (pts) with metastatic melanoma. Debates on de-escalation strategies are ongoing. Patients treated in ICI registration trials who achieved complete response (CR) and stopped treatment achieved long-term responses. We aim to describe the safety and efficacy of planned ICI-drug holidays—intentional immunotherapy suspension until disease progression off treatment.
