Evaluating the Effectiveness of ChatGPT and Google Gemini in Providing Lung Cancer Screening Recommendations for Vulnerable Communities
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Patients frequently search the internet for health information, with cancer being among the most common topics.1 Vulnerable communities, especially those with lower health literacy, are at greater risk of encountering misinformation from large language models (LLMs) (eg, ChatGPT, Google Gemini).2 This is particularly concerning for lung cancer, the leading cause of cancer-related death, where public awareness is limited.3 LLMs are artificial intelligence systems designed to generate human-like responses, but their accuracy in delivering medical recommendations is uncertain.
