Toracoscopia En Prono Urgente: Una Opción Para El Tratamiento De La Perforación Esofágica Por Cuerpo Extraño
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: A 53-year-old man swallowed a dental prosthesis that caused odynophagia and dysphagia. Failed endoscopic attempts led to a diagnosis of esophageal perforation with paraesophageal collection. Urgent prone thoracoscopy removed the prosthesis, repaired the defect, and included esophageal exclusion and jejunostomy. He was discharged after 18 days, with scar stenosis managed by endoscopic dilation three months later. Prone thoracoscopy provides effective, minimally invasive treatment for complex esophageal perforations, preserving the esophagus and minimizing complications.
