Abstract: The aim of this research is to identify the main trends and characteristics in the development of Altai easel graphics in the 1970s and 1980s within the context of Soviet visual art. The article examines the works of graphic artists working in the Altai Territory during this period: A. G. Vagin, F. A. Filonov, A. A. Yugatkin, V. F. Rublev, T. V. Ashkenazi, Yu. E. Bralgin, and others. The scholarly novelty of the research lies in the fact that, for the first time, the graphic art of Altai is considered as part of the Soviet artistic process. The research reveals that Altai graphics of the 1970s and 1980s reflected ideas and explorations characteristic of Soviet art (lyrical-romantic stylistics; interest in modernity; searching for the new through referring to the past; increasing popularity of unique graphic techniques, etc.), and also manifested regional peculiarities (the significant role of the landscape genre; appeals to motifs and images of traditional Altai culture).
