Abstract: Necrotising soft tissue infections have been reported for centuries as it has been around for more than 2000 years,the earliest dating back to Hippocrates in the 5th century BC when he wrote, “Many were attacked by the erysipelas all over the body when the exciting cause was a trivial accident … flesh, sinews, and bones fell away in large quantities … 1,2 there were many deaths.” .
