Abstract: Osmacyclopentadiene complexes were obtained from the reactions between OsCl2(PPh3)3 and 1,8‐dialkynyl naphthalene compounds. These complexes exhibited paramagnetism as they adopted triplet ground states. Reactions of osmacyclopentadienes with alkynes were investigated, which produced novel η6‐fluoranthene complexes, showing their potential in organometallic synthesis.
