Abstract: The article examines the principles of operation of legal clinics, which serve as the basis for clinical legal education of law students. It identifies several problematic aspects related to the need to strengthen and expand the scope of legal aid provision by law students in these clinics. Given the achievements already made, it seems necessary to provide a scientific and practical justification for modernizing the content of the principles of clinical legal education, given the changes that our society is experiencing in the context of military operations. It is established that there is a need to improve the educational cycles of law students by adapting the clinical legal education. This approach to the academic cycle aims to address the challenges faced by law students in acquiring the experience necessary for fully-fledged legal work, as theoretical material presented by even the most experienced specialists is insufficient, and practical skills are essential. This is especially true today in the context of lawmaking, law enforcement, and the need to ensure the realization of the rights and interests of individuals and legal entities. Attention is drawn to the principles governing the activities of legal clinics, which are regulated at the legislative level, and their content is presented. The author examines the scientific positions on categorizing the tenets of legal clinical activity and reveals their types based on the limits of inclusion within a particular group. The author proposes and substantiates the expediency of expanding the package of unique principles of clinical legal education by introducing principles devoted to the advisory activities of law students with clients of legal clinics. Adopting and implementing such principles will contribute to a deeper understanding among law students of their responsibility for the level of advisory services provided and will also enhance their training by examining the experiences of leading legal clinics.
