Abstract: The diversity of cancers and drug resistance generated by cancer cells make traditional therapeutic approaches challenging. A detailed introduction is provided to a variety of cell death mechanisms such as apoptosis, necroptosis, pyroptosis, autophagy, ferroptosis, cuprotosis, and their applications in cancer therapy. By analysing the mechanism, this paper explores the principles of action and clinical applications of related drugs and materials, and investigates the potential of intelligent drug delivery systems in improving therapeutic efficacy and reducing side effects.
