Abstract: Understanding the interaction of light with biological tissues is crucial for advancing medical imaging, laser therapies, and infrared spectroscopy applications. This article compares the penetration of Near-Infrared (NIR) and Mid-Infrared (MIR) light in biological tissues, analyzing their behavior through mathematical models and Monte Carlo simulations. The study explores the impact of absorption, scattering, and skin color variations on light penetration depth, providing insights into the optimal wavelength selection for medical and biomedical applications.
