Direct head orientation parameter estimation for IPEN

Abstract: This method is part of an algorithm for brain perfusion assessment in an interventional radiology suite. We have been developing a method called IPEN for intra-intervention perfusion assessment using a standard x-ray system with no gantry rotation. It can estimate quantitative brain tissue perfusion on a region basis using x-ray angiography images. The key to its success is accurately determining the head orientation relative to the angiography system, which is the topic of this paper.
