Abstract: Corruption poses a serious threat to all states, particularly to new democracies in transition. It entails the abuse of power for personal or group gain, whether in the public or private sector. The damages inflicted by corruption on society are enormous and highly detrimental. This criminal occurrence undermines state institutions and impoverishes the masses. Consequently, one of the primary challenges facing state mechanisms, especially within the justice system, is the prevention and combat against corruption and other criminal activities. This presents a long-term challenge for institutional mechanisms, especially in countries at various stages of political, social, and economic transition, such as Kosovo.
