A new species and new records of Cephennomicrus Reitter on the island of Okinawa (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Scydmaeninae)

Abstract: Thirteen nominal species of Cephennomicrus Reitter are currently known to occur in Japan, and five of them inhabit Okinawa-jima. One more Okinawan species, Cephennomicrus crypticus sp. n. is described. New distributional data are given for C. disjunctus (Jaoszyski, S. Arai & K. Arai), C. nagoanus Jaoszyski, and C. okinawanus (Jaoszyski, S. Arai & K. Arai). For comparative purposes, habitus and aedeagi of all species known to occur on Okinawa Island are illustrated.
