Product Roadmap Development for Cloud-Based Supply Chain Solutions: Aligning Technology with Business Vision

Abstract: The adoption of cloud-based supply chain solutions has come as a necessary element to achieve business agility, scalability, and operational excellence. However, despite the huge development in cloud technology, most organizations are struggling to align their cloud adoption initiatives and long-term business goals. This research explores the creation of product roadmaps for cloud-enabled supply chain solutions with a focus on the importance of adopting a strategic method integrating technology with enterprise-level business goals. A thorough literature review across 2015-2024 portrays rising consciousness of the central role of cloud systems to streamline supply chain operations; however, gaps exist in the realization of integrating technological advancements into business strategies. The benefits of cloud adoption, like optimized decision-making, enhanced risk management, and sustainability, have been categorized by existing research; however, fewer have suggested a holistic framework to develop adaptable product roadmaps with the technology-business gap. This article highlights such gaps, specifically highlighting the importance of incorporating the role of new-generation technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) in supply chain networks.
