Abstract: As Editor-in-Chief of International Surgery, our goal is to serve authors in research and medical institutions all over the world. We have only one preference, which is to communicate credible scientific and medical research information around the world regardless of the country or scientific and medical research institution involved. The goal of International Surgery is to support an inclusive, diverse, and equitable scholarly communications environment by delivering free or low-cost online access to researchers of professional peer-reviewed content. The International College of Surgeons is celebrating its 90th Anniversary of existence this year. The College was founded in 1935 by a Hungarian surgeon, Dr. Max Thorek. The International College of Surgeons has member Fellows in over 100 countries of the world. It only naturally follows that International Surgery, the Official Journal of the International College of Surgeons, has the very clear goal of serving researchers and authors in all countries, including low-income and medium-income countries. We invite your attention to details from our International Surgery website: https://meridian.allenpress.com/international-surgery/pages/Authors.We at International Surgery offer full or partial equitable waivers for accepted articles from low-income and middle-income economies. Eligibility is based on the Research4Life eligibility criteria. Countries listed in Group A are eligible for the full waiver and countries listed in Group B are eligible for the partial (50%) waiver. The waiver is automatically applied based on the Corresponding Author's country information provided during submission. To determine your eligibility, visit the Research4Life criteria page at https://www.research4life.org/access/criteria/. We encourage you to explore these opportunities.I welcome any comments and questions that you may have.Sincerely,Professor Christopher ChenEditor-in-ChiefInternational Surgery
