Abstract: The text explores Hannah Arendt’s conception of the faculty of judgment as an essentially political faculty that allows us to participate in the public space by thinking autonomously, examining our actions and our words, and putting ourselves in the place of others. To this end, it analyzes its relationship with thought and its importance in preventing contexts in which what Arendt considered the banality of evil becomes institutionalized.
