Territorio y jurisdicción: la configuración judiciaria de la Federación mexicana, siglo XIX
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The configuration of the Mexican nation in the early stages of its independence represents a complex process, marked by the transition from an imperial model to a federal organization. This essay explores how the national territory was defined and how the foundations of the federation were established during the period between independence and the enactment of the Constitution of 1824, with its ramifications extending to 1857. It will analyze the impact of the legacy of the Cádiz Constitution, the transformation of intendancies into states, and the delimitation of jurisdictions-fundamental factors for understanding the formation of the new republic. This critical perspective extends to the idea of electing judges, as enshrined in the Constitution of 1857.
