Abstract: The article covers the study of the problem of defining the concept of “legal memory” and its place in the nomenclature of legal science. The authors come to the conclusion that in the domestic legal science there is no universally recognized definition of the concept of “legal memory” (similar concepts of “socio-legal memory” and “judicial memory” are used less frequently). It is most often defined through such concepts as “legal tradition”, “legal continuity”, “legal experience” and is considered part of social or collective memory, legal culture and legal practice.
