From Victims to Voices

Year: 2025
Type: book-chapter
Abstract: Language holds immense power to influence, inspire, and impact individual and societal dynamics. Words, when strategically employed, can function as weapons to defend, challenge, and even manipulate situations to achieve specific ends. This chapter investigates how words serve as both weapons and tools for safeguarding interests across social, political, and organizational spheres. A literature review on the strategic use of language highlights its role in conflict resolution, advocacy, persuasion, and influence. Understanding the nuances of verbal strategies enables individuals and institutions to navigate power structures effectively, address challenges, and safeguard concerns within various contexts. Words being the soul of the conversation must be carefully crafted and drafted as these leave a permanent mark on the minds of listeners.
