Abstract: Background: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is a novel method of treatment for colorectal neoplasms. In recent years, ESD has been widely applied. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy, safety and applicability of ESD technique for colorectal neoplasms at K hospital. Population and methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 58 patients diagnosed with colorectal neoplasms and received ESD from November 2018 to January 2020. Therapeutic efficacy, enbloc resection rate (resection of the whole lesion), enbloc resection with tumor-free lateral/vertical margins, immediate and postoperative complications, histopathological types, and follow-up results were analyzed. Results: 56.9% patients were men and 43.1% were women with mean age of 60.5(±12.3) years. The mean size of the resection specimens was 60.5(±12.3) mm (range 15 - 80 mm). The enbloc resection rate was 100% (58/58), and complete resection with tumor-free lateral/vertical margins was 100% (58/58). 2 cases of perforation reported, 2 cases had acute bleeding and were controlled by clipping and coagrasper. None of the patients developed local recurrence in the follow-up period. Conclusion: Short-term efficacy of ESD is good in treating patients with colorectal neoplasms.
