Abstract: Aim. To conduct a systematic analysis of the data available in the current literature on the use of hyaluronic and lactic acid-based preparations in women with symptoms of vulvovaginal atrophy. Key points. Modern medicine attaches great importance to the fight against reproductive aging, as well as to support and improve the quality of life and health of women during age-related changes. Hyaluronic acid is one of the key components responsible for maintaining the structure, moisturization and elasticity of skin and tissues. Lactic acid modulates the function of cervical and vaginal epithelial cells to prevent various infections, and also has immunomodulatory properties and can induce an anti-inflammatory response by reducing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines by vaginal epithelial cells. The use of preparations based on hyaluronic and lactic acids allows solving various medical and aesthetic problems by activating the processes of regeneration, neocollagenesis, maintaining homeostasis and antioxidant protection of vaginal and vulvar tissue cells. Conclusion. We have summarized modern data concerning the use of preparations based on hyaluronic and lactic acids for the elimination of vulvovaginal atrophy symptoms. The use of hyaluronic acid in combination with lactic acid in the intimate zone in women is an effective and safe method of correcting tissue changes in various age periods, improves the general condition and alleviates vulvovaginal symptoms. Keywords: hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, vulvovaginal atrophy, regeneration, aesthetic gynecology.
