MATERIALS AND METHODS: A cross-sectional qualitative study was carried out among the Community Medicine faculty representatives from 24 medical colleges in West Bengal. After due informed consent, they were interviewed by a panel of senior faculty members based on a semi-structured questionnaire. A qualitative thematic content analysis was carried out to identify the major themes involved. RESULT: The four themes emerging were sustainability of adopted families, human resources and other Logistics issues, logbook proto-type, and building on previous successful implementation of family visits. Various modifications were mentioned by different respondents.
