Analysis of the Implementation of the Discovery Learning Model on the Critical Thinking Skills of Elementary School Students

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills in mathematics subjects in grade IV of SDN 2 Sukorejo Lamongan. The method used in this study is a quantitative research method with a Pre-Experimental Design research type in the form of The One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Based on the average pre-test results, students' critical thinking ability showed a value of 38.75, increasing in the post-test with an average value of 81.35 and an N-gain of 0.72, indicating an increase in the high category. The results of the t-test calculation ( Pair Sample t-Test ) using the SPSS version 2.6 application showed that Ha accepted that there was a significant influence between the application of the Discovery Learning model on critical thinking skills in mathematics subjects in class IV SDN 2 Sukorejo Lamongan.
