Abstract: Human societies have been, are, and will continue to be in a state of constant change. Change in this article refers to fundamental changes that have long-term consequences and lead to the rise and fall of political systems. Why and how societies change is a controversial issue, to which different approaches and perspectives have given different answers. This article seeks to highlight some of these approaches and perspectives.
