Abstract: The importance of changes in Ukraine's regional policy in connection with Russian military aggression is emphasized. Changes in it are considered in accordance with the amendments made to the law "On the Principles of State Regional Policy" and the State Strategy for Regional Development of Ukraine for 2021-2027. The answers to the challenges of war and the need to restore Ukraine from its consequences in the context of the state regional policy, in particular, to protect the country from Russian aggression, to preserve the foundations of decentralized power, taking into account military losses, transferring the economy of regions and communities to the military system, centralization of budget revenues, allocation of functional types of territories, development of mechanisms for the restoration and development of territories, return of refugees, increasing the cohesion of regions and communities in the conditions of Ukraine's integration into the EU and international support.
