Using Metabolic Models to Predict Drug Efficacy: Applications in Biomedicine

Abstract: The article discusses the use of metabolic models to predict the efficacy of pharmaceuticals. Metabolic models help to understand how drugs affect metabolic pathways in cells, which is crucial for developing new therapies and optimizing existing ones. The focus is on methods for modeling metabolic networks, such as flux balance analysis and constrained models. Examples are provided of how these methods are applied to evaluate therapeutic effects and potential side effects of medications.
