Abstract: We link organizational communication to sociotechnical and managerial processes in the neoliberal logic to provoke reflections that can contribute to the epistemological and professional chain of the field. Research has advanced in recent decades, expanding methodological and theoretical perspectives beyond functionalist ones. However, we have experienced transformations from the advancement of technology and platform capitalism that significantly impacted social organization and require inclusion in our reflections. This is a propitious moment to enliven questions that favor critical studies and contribute to reduce the distance between the advancement of theoretical thinking and the development of communication in organizational contexts.
