Identification of Aceh cow reproduction as a local animal genetic resources in Aceh Province

Abstract: This research aims to identify the reproductive aspects of Aceh cow in Aceh Province as a local animal genetic resources. The samples taken in this study included three regencies, namely Langsa, North Aceh and Southwest Aceh Regency. The parameters were (1) sexual maturity age, (2) first mating, (3) gestation duration, (4) first calving, (5) post partum mating and (6) calving distance. The data obtained from this study were the average of first puberty was 16.98±2.14 months, first mating occurs at 23.38±2.56 months, gestastion duration was 9.17±0.23 months, first calving 32.64±2.18 months, post partum mating 3.92±0.70 months and calving interval 13.03±1.40 months. The conclusion showed that Aceh cow in Aceh Province as a local animal genetic resources had a normal and good characteristics.
