Abstract: Chili peppers productivity varies greatly and there is a decrease due to several factors, one of which is pest attacks and plant diseases, namely viruses. Viruses originating from the Geminiviridae genera Begomovirus strain are a very serious problem in the cultivation of chili plants in tropical areas. This study aims to identify the resistance of chili plants to Begomovirus in the F3 progeny resulting from the crossing of BaPep-5 and BaPep-4 in the growth phase. This research used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design. Planting materials used were chili pepper from F3 progeny as 5 genotype, BaPep-5 and BaPep-4 each one genotype, so total 7 genotypes, and sample is 210 plants. The results showed that Begomovirus attacks on chili plants in the field began at the age of 15 day after transplanting (DAT), there were 158 healthy plants and 52 plants that had shown symptoms (24.76%). At the age of 60 DAT, the percentage of attacks increased by 99.05% and at the age of 75 DAT the attack had reached 100%. The F3-2 plants had more resistance to Begomovirus compare to BaPep-5, BaPep-4. The F3 progeny had plant height and stem diameter better than BaPep-5, BaPep-4 plants.
