Abstract: Successfully synthesized acid structure from Ocimum tenuiflorum essential oil and monochloroacetic acid. Their structures were elucidated by 1H – NMR and 13C–NMR nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Through investigation, the reaction achieved the highest efficiency with the molar ratio between eugenol and monocloacetic acid 1:1,2 and the reaction temperature from 100 - 1050C.
