The Motivation of Social Organizations' Participation in Consultative Democracy from the Perspective of the Relationship between the State and Society
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Since the reform and opening up, with the continuous promotion of market economy and democratic politics, there have been significant changes in the relationship between the state and society. On the one hand, consultative democracy has attracted much attention and become a social consensus and development trend. On the other hand, social organizations are growing rapidly in both quantity and strength, exhibiting unprecedented tension in participating in public governance. In this context, the top-down absorption of the state and the bottom-up participation of social organizations, as well as the need for the development of consultative democracy itself, constitute multiple driving forces for social organizations to participate in consultative democracy.
