Mountains and Rice Fields: Curating Painting and Environmental Issues through the “Landscape of Nation” Exhibition

Abstract: History has recorded many natural disasters caused by mountains in Indonesia. “Landscape of Nation” exhibition at the Basoeki Abdullah Museum explores the issue of mountains and rice fields. This research explains the curatorial exhibition. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method. Sixteen paintings in the exhibition were used to cultivate public appreciation for environmental issues. Research on the theme of mountains and rice fields greatly impacts Indonesian art society. This research significantly contributes to education, particularly in the humanities, art studies, natural sciences, and museology.
