Abstract: Flooding significantly alters ecosystems, creating new potential habitatsfor mosquitoes. These changes can increase the risk of vector-bornediseases such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya. This paper discussesa case study of a Yamuna flood-affected area in Delhi to identify newcommon mosquito breeding sites and adopted strategies for theprevention and control of vector-borne diseases. We have examinedthe post-flooding environmental changes, the types of new breedingsites, and proposed methods for the identification and control of thesesites to mitigate the associated health risks.
