Abstract: Agile working time – shift work without a shift model Flexible working time models are well-established in administrative areas but rare in production. There, rigid shift systems dominate, often leaving little room for individual needs. To better balance work and personal life, employees are demanding more flexibility. A possible approach is the selforganization of shifts, where employees set their working hours based on their own preferences and availability considering the companies capacity needs. This requires well-structured planning and the involvement of employees in the process. This practical article outlines a framework for the self-organization of shift work without a fixed shift model.
