Abstract: Recommendations for restoring work ability during returning to work after a mental health condition The main goals of returning to work after a long-term sickness absence are to restore, improve and maintain work ability. The assessment of work ability can provide guidance in the process of returning to work to find necessary and suitable work accommodations together. Occupational health physicians can support this process with their expertise by helping to find health-oriented solutions.
