ACOLHIMENTO ÀS MULHERES VÍTIMAS DE VIOLÊNCIA DOMÉSTICA NO BRASIL: Revisão de escopo

Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Systematic Review
Abstract: The article aimed to map the actions that promote support for women victims of domestic violence in Brazil, highlighting the important role played by primary health care in health services. A scoping review (or scoping study) was conducted, according to the method proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute - JBI and the PRISMA-ScR checklist. The research stages included: formulation of the research question; identification of relevant studies; selection of studies; data extraction; organization, synthesis and reporting of results. The search was carried out from September to October 2024, in the electronic databases Scielo, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (Lilacs); BDENF - Nursing Database, Psychology Electronic Periodicals Portal (PePSIC) and the PubMed portal (Biomedical and health literature), which encompasses Medline. The descriptors used were “Domestic violence”, “Women”, “Woman” and “Brazil”. The associations with Boolean operators were “AND” and “OR”, without the need for the “NOT” operator. Of the 242 articles screened in the databases, 23 were included in the review. The studies were carried out in Brazil and presented strategies and guidelines for welcoming women victims of domestic violence, including the profile of professionals who provide assistance in services, legal advances and initiatives to structure the support network, as well as obstacles that compromise effectiveness of these actions, from the lack of specific training of health professionals to the precariousness of resources and protocols. Therefore, this study reinforces the urgent need for a more integrated, multidisciplinary and humanized approach to combating domestic violence, with the improvement of public policies, the permanent training of health professionals and the strengthening of support networks, combined with a cultural change that challenges prejudices and stigmas, essential to guarantee protection and support for women victimized by domestic violence.
