Implications The Nexus Of Poverty, Economic Growth, And Human Development Index On Income Inequality In Bali Province

Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Bali Province has a different quantity and quality of natural resources. The districts and city face inequity or disparity because of these differences. This study aims to identify the variables that will influence income inequality in 9 Bali Province regencies/cities between 2011 and 2023. Among the data variables that were employed were new databases from each district and city in the province of Bali between 2011 and 2023. This method processed the data using EViews 12 software, which pools or panels the data. PLS (pooled Least Square), FEM (Fixed Effect Model), and REM (Random Effect Model) are the three models that can be used with panel data. Finding the best model among the three is the first step. The findings of the Chow test indicate that FEM is the best option when compared to PLS. The Hausman test is used to determine which model, between FEM and REM, should be selected, and FEM is the best model. The best model for estimating income disparity in the 9 regencies/cities of Bali Province, according to the results, is the FEM. The estimation results indicate that there is a negative correlation between HDI and income inequality. On the other hand, poverty has positive effects. Other variables, GRDP per capita do not affect income inequality.
