Study of the characteristics of the underwater optical communication channel under the influence of negative factors

Abstract: Wireless underwater optical telecommunications have increasingly come into use in seabed exploration systems. Their capabilities allow you to continuously broadcast video in real time at relatively shallow depths. However, there are a number of factors that can affect the channel and thus reduce its efficiency. These include absorption and multiple scattering, which ultimately lead to a loss of luminous flux power, throughput, and a deterioration in the BER bit error rate. Turbulence has an equally serious negative effect on the optical underwater channel, which is caused by accidental changes in the refractive index of water, which causes fluctuations or attenuation of the optical signal. This effect is particularly significant in reducing channel performance. The article shows the lognormal and negative exponential distribution of the FPV light intensity from weak to strong saturated turbulent mode. The obtained simulation results prove full compliance with theoretical calculations. It also examines the effect of chang
