Abstract: : With the society’s development and technological progress, video games have gradually become one of the important media types. They can even be regarded as a cultural form, which has a great impact on society. As a virtual space that reflects real society, the gender issue in video games has received increasing attention from the academic community. This paper uses a feminist perspective as a starting point to analyze the construction of female character images in mainstream video game products. Based on this, issues, such as the consumption of female bodies in video games, the female bodies’ patriarchal discipline under the influence of Confucian culture and gender discrimination are discussed. Finally, it summarizes the significance of the awakening of female consciousness to the development of games and the social thinking it triggers.
