Abstract: The article recognizes the impossibility of abandoning war as an instrument for resolving international contradictions. Based on the analysis of the consequences of the geopolitical transformation of the XIX-XXI centuries, an attempt to forecast the military-political situation is made and an approach to building a balanced system of global military security is proposed
