Abstract: Zero-day vulnerabilities are a significant concern in modern cybersecurity, representing unknown weaknesses in software that can be exploited by attackers before patches or fixes are available. These threats can cause widespread damage, including data breaches, financial loss, and operational disruption. To combat these sophisticated attacks, advanced automated learning techniques, such as machine learning and deep learning, have emerged as critical tools in detecting, mitigating, and responding to zero-day and other types of cyber threats.Machine learning algorithms can analyze vast amounts of data, identify anomalous patterns, and provide real-time detection of potential vulnerabilities, making them highly effective for identifying previously unknown threats. This paper explores the use of advanced automated learning techniques in mitigating zeroday threats, malware, ransomware, spyware, cross-site scripting (XSS), and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. It discusses the dangers associated with these threats, explores various AI-driven techniques for detection and mitigation, and examines how machine learning models are applied to enhance cybersecurity defenses. The paper also evaluates the effectiveness of these techniques through code examples, performance metrics, and statistical analysis, providing insight into the future potential of AI in cybersecurity. The challenges and limitations of current AI models are also highlighted, along with recommendations for improving their effectiveness.Ultimately, this research aims to showcase the role of advanced automated learning techniques in advancing cybersecurity defenses and protecting against the growing threat landscape.
