Abstract: High brightness laser sources in the visible and infrared (IR) are desirable for many applications. Four wave mixing (FWM) in photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with Yb-based fiber laser pumps enables generation of wavelengths into the visible with a corresponding idler in the infrared. We demonstrate an all-fiber spliced four-wave mixing source with 36.7 W average power in the 750 — 850 nm spectral band, beam quality M 2 < 1.3, and an optical-optical conversion efficiency of 45%, based on a custom PCF and mode locked fiber laser pump.
