Abstract: The deregulation and liberalisation of global financial markets has led to an increase in the use ofrisk hedging methods and derivatives, whose values are determined by contracts that takeunderlying variables into account. Option traders include hedge funds, speculators, and arbitragers;the bulk of derivatives users in China are hedgers. Since FIIs (foreign investment institutions) beganparticipating in the capital markets, mutual funds and derivatives have been more widely used.Economic activities such as price discovery and risk management are crucial in reducing volatilityin financial markets.
