Systemic Review: Postpartum Depression during Covid-19 Pandemic

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an international public health emergency. There have only been a few research that have looked into the influence of the COVID-19 epidemic on female mental health. Prior study has indicated that the frequency of mental illnesses among postpartum mothers is much higher following catastrophes or crises. The impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on prevalence of Postpartum Depression (PPD) and associated risk factors for postpartum women, on the other hand, remained unknown. Therefore, the present systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the PPD and to summarize risk factors of PPD during the COVID-19 pandemic. In accordance with PRISMA guidelines, a literature review was carried out by retrieving articles from the Scopus database. This systematic review covered a total of 22 papers. A variety of therapy options have also been suggested.
