Exploring the Home-School Cooperation in Rural Middle Schools under the “Double Reduction” Policy—Taking Hunan Province as an Example

Abstract: “双减”政策立足学生身心健康，减轻学生学习负担。家校合作是促进学生健康发展、减轻学生压力的重要因素。以湖南农村地区A中学和B中学为例，通过访谈教师和家长，发现农村中学家校合作存在制度化不足、合作责任不明确等问题。究其原因，在学校层面表现为学校不重视家校合作，教师缺乏责任感等；家庭层面表现为家长教育意识薄弱，认知落后等。据此从学校、家庭两方面提出一系列家校合作的优化措施。The “Double Reduction” policy, which based on students’ physical and mental health, requires to reduce students’ learning burden. Home-school cooperation is an important factor to promote students’ healthy development and reduce their pressure. Taking A Middle School and B Middle School in rural areas of Hunan province as an example, through interviewing teachers and parents, we found that the home-school cooperation in rural middle schools has insufficient institutionalization and unclear cooperation responsibilities. Reasons of these problems include that the school does not pay attention to home-school cooperation and teachers are lack of responsibility; and that parents have a weak awareness of education and backward cognition. Accordingly, a series of optimization measures of home-school cooperation are put forward from the aspects of school and family.
