Advancements in Nanotechnology: Revolutionizing Drug Delivery Systems for Precision Targeted Cancer Therapy

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Nanotechnology has emerged as a transformative approach in medicine, particularly in the field of targeted cancer therapy. This paper explores advancements in nanotechnology that have significantly improved drug delivery systems, allowing for more precise targeting of cancer cells while minimizing the side effects typically associated with traditional chemotherapy. The study highlights various nanocarrier systems, including liposomes, nanoparticles, and dendrimers, discussing their mechanisms of action, advantages, and potential challenges in clinical applications. The findings suggest that nanotechnology enhances drug solubility and bioavailability while improving therapeutic efficacy through sustained release and controlled drug delivery. Furthermore, the integration of nanotechnology into cancer treatment paradigms presents a promising avenue for overcoming drug resistance and improving patient outcomes. However, challenges such as scalability, regulatory hurdles, and potential toxicity remain significant concerns that must be addressed. This paper emphasizes the need for ongoing research and development to harness the full potential of nanotechnology in revolutionizing cancer treatment, advocating for collaboration among scientists, clinicians, and policymakers to facilitate the translation of innovative technologies into clinical practice
