Abstract: The current study is aimed at the resolution of engine issues associated with higher viscosities found in biodiesel, such as rubber seed oil, through the blending of waste plastic oil. The experiments involved using a hybrid biodiesel made by blending rubber seed oil with waste plastic oil in volume proportions of 20%, 30%, and 40%. The results demonstrate that the hybrid alternative biodiesel, which comprises a blend of 20% rubber seed oil and 80% waste plastic oil (denoted as R 20 P 80), provides a brake thermal efficiency of 25.8% and a brake specific fuel consumption of 0.41 kg/kW-h. In addition, the R 20 P 80 blend exhibits higher oxides of nitrogen emissions by approximately 100 ppm and an increase of 0.07% volume in carbon monoxide emissions than that of diesel at maximum load. Additionally, the hydrocarbon releases are about 5 ppm higher, and the smoke opacity emission increases by 1% at full load for the R 20 P 80 blend compared to diesel. The findings imply that this hybrid biodiesel holds promise for use in a range of industries, including transportation, power generation, cultivation and farming, industrial and commercial applications, marine and shipping, aviation, residential heating, military applications, public transportation, off-road and recreational vehicles, and more.
